
Greg Whitfield
Greg Whitfild, singer/songwriter/guitarist, has been a fixture in the Austin recording scene, and has a long history playing for such great players like Kevin Fowler, Walt Wilkins, Bonnie Bishop, George Ensle, Pauline Reese, Wake Eastman, Devon Heath, Autumn, Byrd and Street, Fred Fuller, Rusty Weir, and Ray Price.
Greg’s songwriting continues to garner accolades. In 2009’s Austin Songwriters Group Song Competition. - his song “You Don’t Laugh Anymore” won best inspirational song and and “I’m Yours” took top honors.
Whitfield’s debut cd “GW” released in 2009 combines rich vocals, layered guitars and a skilled rhythm section including Mike Rieman, Ken Johnson, Artie Passe , John Mills and Jack Gaskin.

Whitfield’s children’s album, “Alphasongs”, released in 1997, is used by primary teachers in classrooms throughout the country.
In 2010 Whitfield released a collection of new songs, “Live at Lakewood Bar and Grill”, recorded at the legendary Lakewood Bar and Grill in Dallas. November 2014 came the release of Whitfield’s third studio album, “Welcome Home”. Early 2024 saw the release of Greg’s new album “Footprints”. Recorded at Blue Rock Studio in Wimberley, Texas, “Footprints”, features a cast of A-list players including Glen Fukunaga, Rick Richards, Mark Dotson, Conrad Choucroun, Chris Gage, John Mills, and the late, great Gene Elders.
No stranger to the live stage, Whitfield has performed at Live Aid, Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic and Austin City Limits Music Festival.
